Temporary software offers for teaching
At present, some software manufacturers offer temporary licenses, the use of which - otherwise only within the university - is now also possible on private end devices within the framework of teaching. This allows students to work on exercises or laboratory tasks on their own computer at home.
The company Mathworks provides all teachers and students of the university with a free Matlab license for use at home, limited until August 31, 2020. This license may only be used for teaching, i.e. explicitly not for research.
To gain access to MATLAB, you must create a MathWorks account with the university's e-mail address (Create Account) before you can sign in to MATLAB Online (Sign In) and download MATLAB (the e-mail address used must end in "uni-paderborn.de".
Pool room use from home (VDI@home, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering)
Temporary access to pool room computers from home is possible for students of mechanical engineering.
This allows, for example, 3D modelling as usual or simulations to be carried out on the pool room computers. Access must be via VPNVirtuelle privates Netzwerk; über eine bestehende Internetverbindung wird der Rechner virtuell an einen anderen Ort gesetzt und bekommt alle Zugriffsmöglichkeiten, als ob er vor Ort wäre. Nifty! and via a special network. If you need access, please contact your supervisor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering or some of the teachers of Mechanical Engineering will offer access to your students in the context of courses.

Software for students
In addition, the normal software offers for students still apply:
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe had temporarily provided free access to the Creative Cloud from home until 6 July 2020. The offer was discontinued.
IBM had a limited time offer to use trial licenses of IBM SPSS until June 15, 2020.
