Where is the data stored?[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
Paderborn University operates its own Bitwarden instance on servers in the Paderborn University Computing Center.
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
You can share login credentials with other people within Bitwarden via Collections.
Who has access to the stored login credentials?[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
- Login credentials in your personal vault are encrypted with your master password and can only be decrypted using the master password.
- Login credentials stored in Collections can be viewed by anyone who has access to the Collection.
What happens if I forget my master password?[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
Without the master password, you will lose access to your account. The master password cannot be reset. The IT Services Center (ZIM) support team can delete your account. You can then register for a new account. The contents of your vault cannot be recovered.
What happens if I lose my second factor?[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
If you have protected your account with two-factor authentication and lose the additional factor, you can deactivate it using the recovery code. If you have also lost the recovery code, you will no longer be able to log in. ZIM support can delete your account. You can then register for a new account. The contents of the vault cannot be recovered.
