Jitsi Meet is a video conferencing software that can be used in a web browser and as a mobile app. Currently, several instances of Jitsi are operated at the University of Paderborn.

Start the Google Chrome or Chromium web browser and go to the following URL: https://meet.cs.upb.de/ (EN) or https://meet3.cs.upb.de/ (DE)
  • Access to Jisti Meet as a host is managed via the service Host of video conferences for small groups (meet.imt.uni-paderborn.de), which can be activated in the service portal. This service is automatically activated for employees and teachers. Guests and students can find the service in the service portal under Center for Information and Media Technologies (IMT). The extended service view must be activated for this. Guests and students can send an activation request for the service if they wish to use it.
  • Jitsi Meet hosts can log in with their IMT account and password via the Jitsi instance and set up meetings and create links to them (see Quick Start Guide).
  1. Now follow the instructions of the Quick Start Guide.
  2. Set a low video quality (Low definition) according to the quick guide.
  3. Turn off audio and video transmission as long as not required.
